It enables you to move the autoguider (or guiding eyepiece) around within the guide scope's focal plane, bringing more potential guide stars into view and speeding up the process of guide star acquisition.

Radial Guider directly compatible with Meade & Celestron 5" - 14" telescopes and Russian Maksutov-Cassegrains. Uses a unique prism angle adjustment screw. A Flipmirror is rather like a very large star diagonal to which is attached an eyepiece and camera at the same time. The idea is that by using the eyepiece the telescope is focused and aligned as normal. When you are satisfied the 90 degree mirror is flipped out of the way and the light goes directly to the film or CCD.
