For critical focusing the world's top Astrophotographers use a focuser from Finger Lakes Instrumentation. FLI's digital focusers are specially designed for modern CCD imaging where the digital imaging system is mounted very close to the correct focus. The thin designs allow focusing with short-travel optical designs, for example the Officina Stellare RH designs which operate at F3.

FLI's Precision Digital Focuser (PDF) is specifically designed for modern CCD astronomy where the digital imaging system is mounted very close to correct focus. The thin design allows focusing with short-travel optical designs. The PDF is ASCOM compliant and comes supplied with a special FLI version of FocusAide. Clear Aperture is 85mm.
