The deal of the season? The CPC 800 (XLT) has twice been voted winner of the prestigious BBC Sky at Night Magazine Group Test of GoTo telescopes beating three other telescopes on both occasions (Issue 4, September 05 and Issue 26, July 07). It achieved 94% overall in the July 07 test with the next best acheiving only 89%. The CPC 800 (XLT) has also twice been awarded 5***** BEST BUY in the Mail on Sunday LIVE magazine. On the last occasion (June 3 2007) the CPC 800 (XLT) was the only telescope to achieve the 5***** rating in addition to the BEST BUY award, beating five other telescopes.
The CPC 800 GPS XLT is the most portable of Celestron's top-of-the-line fork-mounted astronomical telescopes and includes Celestron's premium StarBright XLT coatings. This telescope is at home as a superb visual instrument or, with optional wedge and CCD cameras, as a serious astrophotographer's tool.
Although large in aperture, with its conveniently located carrying handles and an instrument weight of only 19kg (42 lb), this telescope is portable enough to setup in your backyard or take with you to your favourite dark sky location.
