A 200mm (8") telescope is considered to be an excellent aperture for amateur use, giving very pleasing views of most objects in far more detail than a 150mm (6") can ever do, without the weight (and cost) of a larger telescope and mount.

The F6 version is the best general purpose focal ratio, allowing access to both high magnifications and low-power wide field views with standard 1.25" eyepieces. The tube will also fit across the back seat of a car for transportation. Vixen's GPE Polaris mount is superbly engineered and stable and comes with manual slow motions. Motor drives, and full Goto upgrades are available and easily retrofitted. A wooden tripod as supplied provides the most stable platform, quickly dampening any vibrations.
